The rule is defeat
:: prev :: next ::

   Gone off to school
   following the rule
   to learn a profession
   for life's stark recession
the knowledge is soon obsolete
   a refresher is needed
   for the ignorant seeded
   so back off to learn
   new knowledge to burn
but once again the minds they deplete
   old age catches up
   they attend the last sup
   for the Goldened age
   now a meager wage
for following the rule is defeat

like Style i was again playing around with aa/bb/c aa/bb/c - yet unlike it, this one does have meaning. it is a general comment about the circles of life that seemed pointless to me due to and spurred on by some now unremembered event from that time in my life.
